Follow Jesus

What does it mean to follow Jesus? Well depending on who you ask, you might get very different answers. But the idea of following anybody always implies that the person is in our focus and that we are doing all that we can to keep in step with what
they say and where they go. That’s what it means to follow and it’s no different with
following Jesus.

Read the Bible

So you want to get to know God.

The only way to really get to know God is by reading his historical love letter… the Bible.
You can’t get to know someone that you never talk to. It’s impossible. God’s word—the Bible—is the primary way He speaks to us. And it’s the absolute best way to discover how to follow Jesus on a daily basis. If you want to know more about God and His promises, reading the Bible is your next step.

We suggest starting with The Gospel of John and then reading Romans.

Get Baptized

At Cornerstone we believe that baptism is by immersion (which means going underneath the water and then coming back up) and that is the way we practice the
ceremony here. Water baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward previous
decision to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Water baptism does not save you from your sins. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation can you be saved from your sins.

Become a Member

God has truly knit together something special at Cornerstone and we are excited to see God's grace in action as He continues to draw different people from different cultures together to worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Our membership process is very simple.

  1. Complete the online Confidential Membership Application form (below). This will help us to get to know you and serve you better.
  2. Attend a short meeting so that you can get to know us.
  3. Attend the New Members Class.


Why do we have a New Members Class?

  1. It helps us as a leadership to get to know you better.
  2. It helps you to get to know other people who are joining the church.
  3. It's a great way to get to know about the different ministries at CBF so that you can decide where you will serve.

 

Do I have to be baptized before I can become a member?

The only requirement for membership at CBF is a genuine profession of faith in Jesus
Christ. If you have not been baptized, it is our expectation that you will be baptized at the next opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to follow Jesus Christ and to obey this commandment that He gave.

Child Dedication

The people brought little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them and pray for them... Matthew 19:13. We believe that praying for children honours God and helps prepare parents to trust God in the raising of their children so they will grow
to know and serve Him.
